Report Storm-Related Hazards with Folsom Connect
Clogged storm drain or localized flooding in your neighborhood? Fallen tree limb or stop sign on your street? Non-emergency storm-related incidents can be submitted to the City of Folsom with reporting app Folsom Connect. This free place-based online and mobile platform allows you to report, document and monitor a variety of neighborhood concerns and improvements. To download the app, visit your app store and search for Folsom Connect or visit the City's website
Medicine Collection Bin Available at Folsom Police Department
Have unused or unwanted meds around the house? Don't send those down the drain or trash. Instead, stop by the Folsom Police Department at 46 Natoma Street and toss them in the new medicine collection bin, offered as part of the Don't Rush to Flush program. Residents using the medication collection bin should take pills out of bottles and place in baggies. Liquids and creams should be left in original containers. Syringes will not be accepted. The Folsom Police Department lobby is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, excluding Wednesdays and holidays. For more information, visit http://dontrushtoflush.org

Folsom Zoo Sanctuary Docent Training
Do you like children and animals, want to make a difference, and have fun doing it? If you answered, "Yes!" then consider joining the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary's docent training program. Docents help the Zoo promote its mission of humane animal treatment and education through tours, special events and outreach activities.The training program begins March 8.  Learn more and register before February 1.

The Folsom Senior Center at 48 Natoma Street offers a variety of day trips each month. Destinations include museums, art galleries, historic sites, nearby cities, unique sightseeing opportunities and more.  Pick up a trip schedule at the Senior Center or find details online .


2016 State of the City

Join the Folsom Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Steve Miklos for the annual State of the City Address on Thursday, January 21 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tickets are available on the Chamber's website.  In the annual address, Mayor Miklos will review last year's milestones and discuss initiatives in 2016. The address will be posted to the City's website following the event, and will be presented at the January 26 City Council meeting.

 

Ice Skating in Historic Folsom

Free Tree Pruning Clinic
Learn to prune your trees for good structure and form, and extend their life and beauty for years to come. The Sacramento Tree Foundation will discuss when and how to make cuts and pruning strategies, followed by a walk-about on the Library grounds, weather permitting. The event will be held at the Folsom Public Library from 10 -11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 23. Register for this free event at www.sactree.com/events and print out your ticket.
Opening Reception at The Gallery at 48 Natoma
The Gallery at 48 Natoma will host a free opening reception for the gallery's "Through the Trees" exhibit 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 22.  The exhibit features fabric art (pictured) by Marjan Kluepfel and glass sculptures by Demetra Theofanous and Dean Bensen.
