Happy Holidays to your family!

snowman-family.jpg
Holidays are about family.  I consider the Center for Developing Minds as an extension of my family.   This year the CDM staff families experienced both wonderful and difficult life moments: marriage engagements, surgeries, travel, the passing of a loved one, new additions of infants, and other milestones such as children starting school and graduating.

I also think of you, our patients, as part of the CDM family. While you come to us for help, we learn so many lessons from you, including compassion, patience, and love.  I can honestly say that I personally take your lessons home with me, and as a result I am a better father for my own children and a better spouse for my wife.  We are blessed to know you and we look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience with you and your family in 2016.

We wish you a wonderful holiday season filled with peace and joy!

Let's Play Together!
A Playgroup Supporting Social and Communication Development
A new early-learning program specifically for toddlers starts-up again next month at the CDM. Designed to educate the whole family, the new playgroup is centered on teaching foundational social cognitive skills -- including joint attention, initiation and reciprocal communication -- through a shared experience with the child and the parents/caregivers.

Register now for the session that starts on January 5! Please see the link for details:

Social Climbers Junior
Social-skills Group for Children
Social Climbers Junior is a developmentally appropriate, play-based group that allows children to practice skills such as initiating and maintaining social interactions, staying engaged in small group activities, emotional regulation, and self-monitoring. Class sessions include circle-time (with choice-making and sharing), direct teaching and practice of social cognitive skills, expansion and modeling of social language, and facilitated cooperative play activities.  Designed for children ages three to ten years-old, there are five class times to chose from.

There are a few spots left for the sessions that begin the week of January 9. Please see the link for details and contact the clinic to register:
Fee Increase

We want to inform you that effective February 1, 2016, the Center for Developing Minds will be raising its service fees for some of our clinicians, including developmental pediatricians and therapists.

We have not raised our rates since 2008, but over the past eight years most of our clinic expenses have continued to rise, and we now need to make this increase. The CDM works hard to provide a very efficient administration and delivery of our services, so we can pass along cost-savings to our patients.

Hourly fees for service will now be: Developmental Pediatricians = $450/hr., Counselors/Therapists = $175. If you have specific questions or concerns, please let us know. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your families.
