We all know the old saying "April showers bring May flowers," but April has brought so many other gifts to Flower Angels. Where do we begin?  New volunteers, a great new space, and renewed enthusiasm are just three.  April is a wonderful month with the entrance of spring. Our hearts and steps are lightened with nature blooming all around us. It is a time on Cape Cod when friends have returned  and a time before the mad rush of summer. In addition, Flower Angels is planning a wonderful event for May, so we are very busy and have exciting news to share with all of our family and friends.    Stay tuned and read on.

Designing Angels
This month Flowers Angels celebrates a group of volunteers who designed floral centerpieces flowers for  Driven Women, a special event held in North Falmouth at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. They graciously came in and created these beautiful arrangements.  Well done, ladies!

Kindred Eagle Pond, Dennis MA
Kindred Eagle Pond, a long term skilled nursing home and rehabilitation center, nestled in the Dennis woods on winding Love Lane, was our second nursing home visited by the Flower Angels two years ago. For their Day of Giving, the Rotary Club of Hyannis lovingly assisted my friend and I with making 80 huge bouquets for Eagle Pond residents. Since then, we have surprised the residents and patients in the skilled nursing care long term and memory care units and rehab wing with hundreds of bouquets of love and moments of kindness, adding smiles to their day. Every month, our Community Connection Flower Angels' assistants, accompanied by Mona, their loving staff member, are always joyful when making their delivery of 40 bouquets of sunshine to Eagle Pond. The recipients just love them...partnerships made in heaven and a win-win for all.

  2016 HOME AND GARDEN SHOW
BY SUZANNE CARTER
Thanks to the kindness of The Rotary Club of Hyannis, Flower Angels had an amazing booth at their 58th Home and Garden Show.  David Scanlon set up and decorated our booth that was enjoyed by all. The fun part was sharing time with 14 of our volunteers who took turns spreading our mission of love to everyone who stopped by to inquire about our nonprofit. It was awesome that so many people loved our program and happily donated to take home one of our signature antique teacup floral arrangements. Thanks to the vendors who supported our mission and to Joyce for joyfully delivering the bouquets of love to them.  We ended our weekend with full hearts and every bouquet sold raised much needed funds to finish our cold room. In the midst of an extremely heated political campaign, our Keep it Kind "Spreading a W hole Lotta Love" buttons and tee shirts received a lot of attention from many passersby. It was a joy-filled day! Meeting many new people and making new friends was the highlight of the weekend.

WHO DOESN'T LIKE A PARADE?
By Kathleen Tosiello
Flower Angels participated in the Yarmouth St. Patrick's Day parade for the first time.  It was a freezing cold day, but our hearts were warmed by the great reception from the spectators.  Strell and her daughter, 11 year old Katie, showered the kids in the crowd with candy, and it was great fun.  Gail, Suzanne, Tami, and Kathleen marched alongside our festive van distributing Flower Angel brochures and bouquets.  Meanwhile, Joyce, Sue, and Linda manned the flower cart in front of our new Route 28 location distributing bouquets to the parade van drivers. It was heart warming to hear so many people say how wonderful the Flower Angels' mission is.  How great is it that people are aware of our presence in the community?  For sure it was a great day for the IRISH and Flower Angels, too.

Even though we had snow during our Monday workshop on March 21st, the angels managed to create some special springtime floral pieces to celebrate the holiday. Hope you all enjoyed a blessed Easter.
