Our Efforts to Help the Fox Valley
"LIVE UNITED" Are Growing!
We are thrilled to let you know that effective August 1, 2016, United Way of Central Kane County is merging with Fox Valley United Way. This means that the 15 communities in Kane and Kendall counties currently served by Fox Valley United Way will be joined by
St. Charles, Geneva, Elburn, Maple Park, LaFox, Kaneville, Wasco and Campton Hills.
With 94 years of experience in addressing the needs of the less fortunate, Fox Valley United Way is privileged to have the organizational capacity to develop resources that will fund social service agencies that United Way of Central Kane County has supported. We will continue to lead collaborative community change that impacts health, education and income - the three pillars of United Way efforts throughout the United States.
Fox Valley United Way is already planning how we will expand donor and volunteer opportunities, while bringing successful initiatives to these new communities.
Volunteer Fox Valley
, our partnership with Aurora University, is one such initiative. This online volunteer portal connects individuals and businesses seeking volunteer opportunities with not-for-profit organizations in Kane and Kendall Counties needing their help, and is available to agencies in the central Kane region.
SPARK
(Strong, Prepared And Ready for Kindergarten), the Aurora Early Childhood Collaboration between Fox Valley United Way, the City of Aurora and School Districts 129, 131, 204 and 308, is another resource that could be expanded to additional communities. This program works to ensure that at-risk children are prepared to succeed when they get to kindergarten by improving access to quality preschool learning options.
We are grateful to the United Way of Central Kane County Board of Directors and Executive Director Paula Yensen for entrusting Fox Valley United Way to carry on their respected tradition of advancing the common good in the communities they serve.
