NEWSLETTER

CivicSource is the leading auctioneer of tax-distressed real estate. From tax sales to adjudication auctions, CivicSource digitizes due process compliance to ensure legally valid sales.

East Baton Rouge Parish adjudicated properties will be listed online TODAY, FEBRUARY 1st on  CivicSource.com. Adjudicated properties are properties that have failed to sell at a previous tax sale. The Parish will start by focusing on properties that have been delinquent for greater than five years. The average starting bid on these properties is $3,400, which includes all closing costs, as well as the cost of title insurance.

Auctions take place on the first Wednesday of every month at  CivicSource.com. All adjudicated properties sold by CivicSource include title insurance, ensuring investors are purchasing saleable properties. Placing properties online has proven a successful method in parishes across the state - and since buyers pay the total cost, partnership with CivicSource costs the parish and taxpayers nothing. BUILD-PAC'S NEW "FAIR SHARE" PROGRAM

BUILD-PAC's new Fair Share campaign is the easiest way to get involved in the political process. We are asking every member to do their Fair Share for the housing industry by contributing just $25 to BUILD-PAC during the 2015-2016 election cycle.

What would happen if every NAHB member did their Fair Share?
If every member does their Fair Share and invests a minimum of $25, then BUILD-PAC will be a $3.5 Million PAC. This would allow BUILD-PAC and housing to have an even greater impact in the 2016 elections.

What is my Fair Share going toward?
Your contribution helps elect pro-housing, pro-business candidates who will support our issues and fight for housing in Congress.

How can I help with the Fair Share campaign?
Please help your state meet its goal. During your state and local meetings back home, ask your peers to do their Fair Share for housing by contributing just $25 to BUILD-PAC in this election cycle. If every member does their Fair Share, then BUILD-PAC's voice will be LOUDER and STRONGER than ever before.

Questions? For more information contact BUILD-PAC staff.

Several inaugural members of the newly established  Young Professionals Committeeconvened at the NAHB  International Builders' Show to discuss their plans for the future.

At the meeting, Kim Hefner passed the torch to the up-and-coming group, with the charge to make membership more attractive to under-45 members-the future leaders of the home building industry. Hefner, general manager for  Allen Homes in South Dakota, was a key driver in  forming the Young Professionals Committee.

Billy Doelker, 40, a Louisville builder and national director for the   HBA of Kentucky, said that even though his state boasts the second largest HBA in the country and a very active local young professionals group, it remains a struggle to get new, young people engaged and involved in the association. A lack of mentorship stands out as one possible reason.
"Older members have to do a better job of grooming the leaders of the future," he said.
