All children in the non-hifz group will be given 1 minute to recite what they have prepared. A buzzer will sound at the end of one minute. The child will be allowed 5 to 7 seconds to complete the ayah that he or she is reciting. If the child goes more than 10 seconds beyond the time allowed, he/she will be disqualified.

Hifz program participants will be given a maximum of 3 minutes. The 10 second overage rule applies to them as well. This group will be asked questions from the parts that they know.

Children will be judged on their memorization, flow and melody of recitation, confidence and Tajweed. Ages 5-7 will receive 50% of their score for memorization and 50% for their confidence and flow. The judges will score according to their perception and a cumulative between three judges will result in the final score.

The organizing committee's decision will be final in all matters. Please do not dispute on any matter during the event.

Parents of group 1 are allowed to be with the child if they feel that it will facilitate their child's performance. You may sit by the child, but may not help with the recitation.
