6th Grade Holds King Tut Trial

6th Graders studied the mysterious death of the famous Pharaoh King Tut. Mock trials were held as students presented arguments as prosecutors, defense attorneys, and medical examiners. They viewed x-rays, searched for possible motives, and investigated Tut's complex family.

Community Announcements

Dear Teach NJS Partner,

Please urge Governor Chris Christie  to give all students the same state funding for security, nursing aid, technology and textbooks in his fiscal 2016-17 budget, regardless of what kind of school they attend.

Increased state funding for our children's education and services is possible, and necessary to mitigate the day school tuition crisis.

Currently, each non-public school student receives only $198 from the State of New Jersey for educational programs and services, which is far below the $20,000 average cost to New Jersey taxpayers for each public school student. The funding that the state has budgeted for fiscal year 2015-2016 doesn't provide children who don't go to public schools the basic services necessary for our children to succeed, including adequate security during these very dangerous times.

Our children's safety and basic learning tools are no less important than those who attend public school. There should be no difference in the security and services funding they receive.

To effectively advocate for this legislation, we need EVERY member of our community to take two minutes to send an email to Governor Christie.

These two minutes could help bring in millions of dollars of much needed services and equipment to our schools.

Please don't miss this opportunity to make a difference. We do not need hundreds of emails. We need thousands of emails. Only as a confident, determined group can we make this happen.

Please forward this email to your friends, your fellow school parents and your shul members. The success that we can achieve by working TOGETHER over the next two weeks is crucial for both our schools and our children.

Thank you,
