SMILE Mass would like to send a HUGE SHOUT OUT to four young ladies that hosted a lemonade and cookie stand this past Saturday to benefit SMILE Mass.
In just one day, they raised $178 for SMILE Mass.  Way to go girls!

Falmouth Road Race - why I run

In just 42 days (August 16th ), my son, King Nicholas and I, will be running the 7 mile Falmouth Road Race. This is supposedly  a very challenging, but beautiful course.  So, although I  will not win my age group, Nicholas and I  will finish!

Every runner has his or her reason for running. Mine will always be SMILE Mass and King Nicholas!

With the many programs SMILE Mass has to offer, I've been able to improve the lives of many families that share similar circumstances as mine. Over the past 14 years, I have had the privilege to not only enhance Nicholas' life, but also make improvements in the communities throughout Massachusetts.  Knowing first hand the impact we have made, has made me even more eager to complete our "House goal",  a fully handicapped accessible  house where anyone can enjoy a vacation without barriers, something so many families like mine could only dream of. With your continued support, we can make that happen in 2015.

We, at SMILE Mass, are so close, please consider sponsoring Nicholas and I today, as we set our goal on yet another finish line, the 7 mile Falmouth Road Race on August 16th.  For Nicholas, this run is about waiving to people saying hello; being out in the community doing what most of us take for granted. For me this is about giving Nicholas a sense of normalcy, showing other families like mine that life is full of opportunity if you are willing to find them. Yes, many of us will need special equipment to complete a road race, or go to the beach, but with the continued support from you, SMILE Mass can offer those tools.

Any support is greatly appreciated! Our page can be found at:

Thanks for your continued support,

Nicholas and Lotte
