The Pelican State Chamber Music Series will present the Brahms Piano Quartet in G minor and chamber music for piano and strings by Rachmaninov featuring the Slovakian pianist Ivan Koska, who is currently on the faculty of Nicholls State University and who has won several international competitions and has performed throughout Europe. He'll be joined by Christiano Rodrigues on viola, Tomaz Rodrigues on cello, and James Alexander on violin. The program will be opened by special guest Lily Martinez, a young violist from New Roads, playing Pablo de Sarasate's Tarantelle, accompanied by Elisa Galleano. Enjoy the performance in the intimate setting of the beautifully restored 200-seat auditorium of the Julien Poydras Museum and Arts Center at 500 West Main Street in historic downtown New Roads, Louisiana. The concert is free and open to the public. Reception with the musicians follows the concert.

Pointe Coupee Historical Society

Louisiana Triathlon is the oldest triathlon in the state and is expected to attract over 300 athletes across the south!  The sprint distance triathlon will start at Morrison Parkway at the floating dock, transition in the City Hall lot, and finish in the Crawfish Jams Festival.
