APRIL NEWSLETTER
I have said it before, but I will say it again: April Showers, bring May Flowers. As I was looking for something to put in this little block, I struggled, but then I came across this
BLOG POST that so eloquently reminds us that even though the rain can hinder our lives sometimes
* Forced to Change Plans

Kids get cabin fever and just need to be OUTSIDE
* Get wet walking from our car to the grocery store, or office
The rain also produces beauty. It might take awhile for us to see it - in fact, we sometimes have to wait until May for the flowers to bloom and the grass to turn green.
I REALLY encourage you to read the blog post. It puts the concept of rain in a little different perspective that might have you looking at life a little differently.
Also, remember that when life gives you puddles, don't ignore them or try to go around them. Instead, jump feet first into those puddles and feel the splash of rain hit your face and remember that through the waters of baptism you are a Child of God!

POP Tots Playgroup
|
Our monthly POP Tots is on Saturday, April 2nd from 9:00 - 11:30. As usual, feel free to come for any of the time that is listed. However, for this month we will have a designated activity @ 10 am. POP Tots is for all children ages 5 and under and is designed to get them to feel comfortable at Prince of Peace. We will meet in the CLC and Welcome Center and there will be games, crafts and snacks available. Friends are invited as well.

Parent OneRead: Collapse of Parenting
|
Prince of Peace Spiritual Growth Team, in collaboration with Pr Natalia, and both our Children and Youth Ministries, is putting on a Parent OneRead during March.
Together, during the month of March, we'll read "The Collapse of Parenting" by Dr. Leonard Sax.
It's an interesting and unique take on parenting by a renowned family physician and psychologist, with years of research and expertise informing his book.
We will use Dr Sax's book to build a lively discussion for parents of kids at all stages and age, at 6pm on Wednesday, April 6
th
. Parenting is hard. So let's talk about it together.

Kids Choir Showcase Rehearsals
|
 It is already that time of year for the Kids Choir to gear up for their Annual Showcase. The showcase is designed to help share the talents of our young people as they sing all of the songs they have done this school year, and they also have the chance to share solos and duets, as well as instrumental solos.
Rehearsals for the Showcase are as follows:
* Saturday, April 23rd @ 9:30
* Saturday, April 30th @ 10:00 am

Kids Choir Field Trip
|
If your child is in Kids Choir they are invited to join us on Saturday, April 23rd for an outing to Stages Theater's production of "I Love You Stinky Face." We will rehearse here in the morning for our Kids Choir Showcase and then head over to Hopkins for a light lunch and the show. The cost is $25/child and that covers everything for the afternoon. The full information sheet and ticket/lunch order form can be picked up from Val Krych.

POPpers @ Waterpark of America
|
 All 4th-6th graders are invited to join us for our Annual Trip to Waterpark of America. We will meet at Church @ 12 and we will return by 5 PM. The cost is $15 per person (unless you are a parent that is coming to chaperone - then you are free). More information and waiver forms will be emailed out the first full week in April. As always, friends are welcome, and encouraged to attend all POPpers events. If you are planning to attend the Waterpark event, final RSVPs are due by Wednesday, April 20th.
