As the Public Art Archive celebrates its 5 year anniversary, we have 5 things for you to remember!

The database now contains 10,000 records of public art from around the U.S. and abroad!

Many of those 10,000 records were added to over 1,000 collections by artists who are eager to see their work included in this resource at no cost to them. Artist-submitted entries are an important way to help grow the database while program managers and registrars remain overworked. Even still, public art programs in every level of government, from airports to zoos, have contributed large portions of their collections to the database because they see the value of their inclusion. Corporate and nonprofit-owned collections are also represented in the PAA database. See the full list of collections here .

Remember: A resource is only as useful as it is comprehensive.

ADD YOUR COLLECTION

Artists are already submitting entries to the PAA database that belong to collections. In order for the PAA to become a comprehensive resource, we need the input of collection managers. We consult with every collection manager to overcome challenges and answer all of your questions. We do the data entry for you and are happy to do multiple imports at a pace that works for you. Contributing to the PAA is an important way to support the continued growth of the public art field.

Remember: Make a resolution in 2016 to add your collection to the PAA.

INVITE YOUR ARTISTS

Artists love free exposure, and you love to help them get it. What better way to help the artists that you work with to get more work than by inviting them to add their public artworks to the PAA database. The PAA can also be used to educate artists trying to break into the public art field. Emerging artists may be able to submit a more competitive proposal when they understand what public art looks like.

Remember: It's totally free and always will be.

PROMOTE YOUR PROGRAM

The Collection Showcase feature of the PAA is still available for an annual fee of just $750. After we add your collection to the PAA database, the Showcase page can be created for you to manage as the splash page for your collection. You can't build your own website (with mobile accessibility) for 10 times that-and these funds go to sustaining the PAA as a continually free resource for the field.

Remember: "If you're not online, you don't exist." Help your public find your collection by adding it to the PAA and creating your own Collection Showcase page.
