DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE DIRECTOR

With the mild winter we have had this year  I am even more eager for camp start. The staff have already begun making their plans to move up to camp for the season. Tom Hart just returned from a program research trip in Costa Rica where he studied various new and exciting activities. Jeff Laferierre has been spending his time this winter at UNLV discovering some new training techniques for staff to make sure we are ready for when all the campers arrive.

Construction workers have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the new LIT cabin in the trees. This cabin has the largest porch I have ever seen with a really great spot underneath to hang out and keep cool. The camp store, Chettys Place, is in the final stages of a renovation that Fred has been working hard on this winter. Fred is also getting ready to break out the lawn mower so that he can begin preparing Rick's Field for our first campers of the season.

Our first group of campers is a school group joining us in May. They are traveling all the way from Florida to check out Camp Mi-Te-Na. I'm looking forward to seeing them and all the other school groups that will be visiting camp this spring. With the start of the rental season means that we are even closer to the start of summer 2016!
