NEW BEGINNINGS
Jennifer Keohane, Executive Director

EDI just love opening up a new calendar and projecting forward all the possibilities for the new year, don't you?

Rachel
CLC is kicking off the year with some exciting new beginnings. We are very happy to announce that Rachel Gaither (pictured at left) is joining the CLC team this week as our Discounts Manager. Rachel has a strong background in all types of libraries - academic, public, school and special. In addition to having a MLIS, she also has an MBA. Beyond all of her credentials and experience, what made us feel Rachel was the right fit for CLC was her goal to "improve service to library users every day" by "branching out and finding new avenues of service to ensure that CT libraries can play a dynamic role in their communities."

Rachel is hitting the ground running. On her second day on the job she will be attending ALA Midwinter with me as we scout for new products and services and meet with existing vendors. If we don't see you in Boston this weekend, you'll be sure to meet Rachel over the coming weeks as she attends roundtables and other events. We are looking forward to bringing you lots of new discount opportunities with Rachel's leadership as our negotiator.

Meanwhile, I've been working on some deals for you over the past couple of months: Makerbot 3-D printers, mobile hotspots, hard-to-find display items, academic books (print & electronic), RFID/physical handling systems, and more. Details on these projects and promotions will be coming out in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.

Hoping you find inspiration and fresh starts of your own this year,
Jennifer
