I remember when the chorus  I want to leave a legacy  became a theme of my life. My husband would say, "My wife? She wants to leave a legacy!"

And it's true. I did. I knew my life had purpose. I knew my life had meaning. I knew I was destined for more than just getting by, for more than just filling space on the planet until I died.

But then.

But then, things happened. Tough things. Unexpected things.  And slowly I began to take my eyes off of the future, off of the hope, off of the legacy, off of Jesus. And instead, I began to put them on the here and now. On the "why did that happen" and the "what if that happens".

And little by little, thought by thought, question by question, the dream got just a little bit smaller, the passion just a little bit weaker, the fear just a little bit stronger.

Until I found myself at a crossroads.  A crossroads of where I was, where I'd been and where I wanted to be.

And I knew I had a choice.

I could choose, one more day, to worry. One more day, to fear. One more day, to ignore all of who God is and who He'd created and called me to be.

Or.

Or I could choose, that day, to once again believe. Once again trust. Once again lift my eyes, above the moment. Above the here and now. Above the myriad little hurts and pains and questions...to Jesus.

Jesus. The giver of life. The author of life.

Jesus. The One who gave His very life, to give me mine!

Not just to exist. Not just to take up space. But to live. Truly live, the joy-filled, purpose-filled, world-changing, legacy-leaving life He planned for me long ago!

I don't know if you've ever found yourself in such a situation. Where you know where you are. And you know where you want to be. And you realize...something isn't quite right here.

And if that's you, today, I want to encourage you. I want to encourage you! It's never too late. Never too late to allow Papa God to rekindle the dreams, rekindle the passions, rekindle the flames in your heart, in your mind, in your spirit, in your soul.

You were made to conquer. You were designed to prosper. Prosper in your heart, prosper in your emotions. To know that you are loved and cared for. To know that you are designed with purpose and destiny. And to know that through Christ, every single one of God's promises to you are yes and amen!

This is my prayer for all of us, that we would prosper, even as our souls prosper. That we would believe, truly believe, that our Father loves us. That He planned us and purposed us and designed us for greatness. The greatness of loving Him. The greatness of loving others. The greatness of bringing His Kingdom here to Earth, just as it is in Heaven.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God's absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us,  [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith.  from Hebrews 12 AMP

Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Matthew 6:10 NIV

What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him. from 1 Corinthians 2 AMPC
