Buzzing ...
Tommy Wright has earned the name 'Scholsey' following a run of buzzing and energetic display's since joining the Swans from Sutton United. Whilst he didn't get on the score sheet on Saturday he was massively important in giving the necessary space to 'Cash and Coxy'. Both the chosen strikers scored and Daniel Brown's opening free kick early in the first half saw off any chance VCD Athletic had of taking the points. Pat Cox [pic below] has now scored 27 goals this season and has not shirked a single challenge all season, chasing everything. With Cash 'Hippolyte Jnr' relishing the game it is quite an exciting turn around for the Swans following a tough season.
New signing Ahmidi Wadah showed some great touches on Saturday including a 35 yard pin-point pass to Jack Bennett and Swans fans will be hoping for the same as Leiston will be chasing the points. The Suffolk side are just outside the play-offs and will prove a tough challenge for Drax's men. Mind you, looking at Drax, Martyn Spong and Bobby Behzadi below ... is that a smile we see?
The Swans welcome you all to come along and get behind the boys ... KO 3pm at Wheatsheaf Park.
A
3-0 win at VCD Athletic
virtually secured
Swans
Ryman Premier status and delighted boss Johnson Hippolyte.
There were no
reported damage in the dressing room
at VCD Athletic's minimal ground - a sure sign that the manager got what he came for on the pitch after he admitted to certain breakages at Wheatsheaf Park on Saturday.
"I know they had a man sent off early on but from the first minute of the game we looked lively," he maintained.
"We were out to put right the wrong of the poor performance on Saturday [
1-1 draw with Harrow Borough
]. The team talk was easy here. I said I want to see some character, I want to see some reaction even though my management team said I was a little bit hard on them on Saturday.
"They said they are allowed a day off day. And we didn't lose. But it's standards and I want them to maintain those standards every game.
"We tweaked the team a little bit because we wanted to go a bit more attack minded, hence why I played my boy [Jonathan Hippolyte] because he can get in behind.
