UNITED WAY ALLIANCE ON AGING NEWS
Diabetes Prevention
United Way Alliance on Aging is working to lower the rate of diabetes in the Lehigh Valley.  We are currently funding two programs for Diabetes Prevention: the Allentown YMCA's Golden Opportunities program and The Hispanic Center of Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem's Diabetes Prevention portion of their Senior Center program. In our February meeting we will have robust conversations about how we can work together to change the lives of seniors.  If you know of any agencies or programs in the Lehigh Valley who are working on diabetes prevention and would like to be included in the meeting to be held on Thursday, February 11, please contact Priscilla Rosado .
Roey's Paintbox holds classes at Senior Centers
Healthy Aging, Senior
Meet Roey Ebert, Creative instructor, artist, and the host of Roey's Paintbox® Parties! Roey began her business three years ago in her church basement and has flourished ever since. Today Roey can be found doing classes bi-monthly at Capital Blue Cross in the Promenade shops.

Roey and her incredible staff spend their time teaching people of all ages about paint and how to create beautiful works of art. She has held classes at senior centers such as our partner agency Hispanic Senior Center. Painting instruction helps improve hand and eye coordination for the seniors. If you are interested in learning more about Roey and the work she does in the community visit her website.
