Donations accepted to replace Oscar the Bounce House
In March we had to say good bye to our beloved Oscar the Octopus, the Port of Play Bounce House.

Many have offered donations toward something new. While a replacement has not yet been chosen, donations are appreciated. They can be dropped off or send directly to Port of Play at 785 Alameda Ave.
What else is new at Port of Play?
The Port of Play stage recently got a makeover. The Parks Department Maintenance crew opened up the stage for easy accessibility and visibility, which included adding a new viewing window to the left of the stage.
Fundraising for the community, encouraging volunteerism
The Astoria Parks, Recreation and Community Foundation  was founded in 2010 by a passionate group of individuals whose mission was to better the parks and recreational opportunities in the community. APRCF hosts local events like the Run on the River, ZeroK and Parks After Dark movie nights to help raise funds to assist Astoria residents in the form of scholarships. These scholarships can be used for passes to the Aquatic Center and other Parks and Recreation facilities.
