ICBSD Board Members Hold Lunch with Senator Rounds

On Wednesday, January 6th, members of the ICBSD Board of Directors and South Dakota members of the ICBA National Committee held a private lunch meeting with Senator Mike Rounds, his Chief of Staff, Rob Skjonsberg, and his East River Director, Mark Johnston.

Topics of discussion included the CFPB and our goal of the regulatory agency moving to a commission as opposed to one director.  We also spoke extensively on the issue that CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) will create for community banks.

The Senator encouraged the ICBSD to keep up the regular communications we are having with his office and committed to holding a quarterly conference call with the ICBSD Board of Directors to stay ahead of issues facing community banks in South Dakota.

We thanked the Senator for his work on the Senate Banking Committee and encouraged him to continue to invite South Dakota Community Bankers to testify as needed.
