Dear Chess Enthusiasts,

Our next Championship Tournament will be held at the Ramaz Lower School. where we have had many successful events in the past.

The School could not be more conveniently located on East 85th St between Park and Lexington, only
one block from the subway.

Ramaz has a large after school chess program, and a solid chess team that competes locally.  We are expecting a large turnout this time and therefore want to notify players that there is a 200 player maximum, so please register early.

Just to remind you of our lengthened time controls for the higher sections:

While Novice and Elementary sections remain G/30, the Reserve U 800 section is G/40.
Advanced U 1000 and Championship U1400 sections are both G/45.  And the U 1800 section is only 3 rounds but G/60.   All sections 5 minutes less when using 5 second time delay.

This year the Under 1800 section is open to Adults as well as scholastic players!  Therefore, anyone rated Under 1800 can play.

Our Beginner section (K-1) is unrated by the US Chess Federation.  Any players participating in the Beginner section do not have to pay USCF dues and do not need to be a USCF member. Clocks will not be used in this section and it is not necessary to notate either.

All other sections will remain USCF rated as always.

We have over 100 giant awards to give away, so come join us for a good time on February 7th!

Hope to see you there.
