We Welcome Your Plans for Giving!

OUR GOAL IS TO RECEIVE 50 MORE PLANS FOR GIVING BY SUNDAY, APRIL 3
We have now received Plans for Giving in 2016-2017 from 150 households at St. Mark's, for a total of over $500,000. This is great progress, and we say "THANK YOU!"  to all who have expressed gratitude to God and commitment to mission in this way. In 2015, over 190 household submitted Plans for Giving, so we are on our way to surpassing that, which is important since our congregation and our mission have grown since then. If we haven't heard from you yet, please bring your Plan for Giving in 2016-2017 to worship this Sunday, or go to online today and complete one by clicking this link.  I f you have misplaced your Plan for Giving card, we have extra ones in the sanctuary and narthex at church and in the main office. We can also mail a new one to you, if you prefer.  Thanks!!

Tacoma Memory Loss Zoo Walk Needs More Volunteers

The Early Stage Memory Loss (ESML) Zoo Walk has become so popular that we are in need of two more volunteers to walk with us at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium.  We are looking for individuals who enjoy the company of elders to accompany our group of people with ESML and their care partners for a morning walk through the zoo followed by refreshments at the café.  The walks occur weekly with breaks between each 8 week session and for holidays.  LCSNW pays entry fees for the zoo; participants and volunteers are responsible for their own refreshments.   For more information and a volunteer application, contact Linda McCone at  253-722-5691  or  [email protected]

LWR Personal Care Kits

Starting April 3, there will be a table and baskets for your donations that will be packed by our members on May 1, 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Please join us in celebration of these kits and those who will receive, over a Syrian themed potluck (sign-up and recipes available at the table). If you are interested in preparing kit materials, taking inventory or setting up for the event, please contact Catherine Terrill at  [email protected] . Connect and Care TimeBank

Recent Exchanges, Members helping each other:
There has been  busy activity recently for TimeBank members. Several people have volunteered in the Special Time Fund and have joined together to assist in weeding and garden cleanup. Working together,  they not only provided much needed help, but also formed new friendship bonds. In another instance, two members who had attended the CCTB Focus Group found out about some mutual needs. As a result,  an attic got cleaned out, reorganized and old items were discarded and recycled.  Here again, a new friendship has also been formed.

New Members:
It was great to welcome six new members to the TimeBank in March. Soon they will be posting their offers and requests, adding to the richness of activity within the TimeBank.

Training Dates
There are two more opportunities to take part in training;  Wednesday, April 6 at 6:00  and  Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 .
Membership fee will remain at $10 per year through May.
Sign up now.  Sign up sheets are in Narthex or contact Patty Reinkensmeyer,  253 857-7977 [email protected] .
