On January 27 the Topeka and Shawnee County Homeless Task Force along with many community volunteers conducted a Point-In-Time Count based on where people stayed the night of January 26.
Continuum of Care networks are required by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to conduct the Point-in-Time Count each year of both sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness.

Mobile Food Pantry at Avondale East NET Center Every Third Friday
Community Resources Council and Harvesters held the first of many mobile food pantry here at Avondale East NET Center.
Mobile food pantries provide nutritious food to families in need of emergency food assistance in areas where access to traditional food pantries is limited.
The March mobile food pantry served
approximately 140 homes, a total of 538 individuals fed.
Thank you for everyone who made this possible and a special shout out to Westar Energy for dedicating volunteers for all of our future mobile food pantry events! With Harvesters as our partner we are excited to continue this food distribution every month, every third Friday.
