EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE
Join us for a Meet and Greet, with Executive Director Candidate,
Gilbert (Gil) Kleiner,
on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 4:00 PM.

Gil Kleiner has over 27 years of synagogue executive director experience. He has led one of the largest conservative synagogues in the US. He has extensive experience in operational leadership, financial management, community outreach, facility oversight and program development.
He has been a leader in his community as well as being past president of NAASE, North American Association of Synagogue Executives.  

We encourage you to mark this date on your calendar and to meet Gil during the visit.  Sharing your impressions and observations with the members of the search committee will play a vital role in the search process!

This Shabbat we celebrate Joshua Miller, son Marc and Kimberly Miller becoming a Bar Mitzvah.

Joshua Miller is a 7th Grader at the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School. His favorite subject is Language Arts, because he like to write. For his Bat Mitzvah project Joshua, raised money for Heifer International. Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth.  Heifer links communities and helps bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty.

Joshua chose Heifer International because it ties to his Torah Portion.  In his free time, Joshua, like to play video games, visit car shows, spend time at the gym at the JCA and spend time with his family. For the past two summers, Joshua, was a Leader In Training at Camp Ki Tov!

Children's Shabbat Programming:
  • Gan Shabbat; a family friendly service for preschool-aged children and their parents is held in the Levin Indoor Playroom in the DuBow Preschool at 11:00 AM.
  • Camp Shabbat; kids in kindergarten through fifth grades will get to lead their own abbreviated Shabbat service. Following their service they will be up on their feet running around as they learn about that week's Torah portion, an upcoming holiday, or another Judaic topic in a fun and interactive manner in the Bessie Setzer Frisch Activities Center at 10:30 AM.
  • Complimentary Shabbat Morning Babysitting is available for children ages 1 - 5 in the DuBow Preschool from  9:30 AM - 12:30 PM.

Brought to River Garden by the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica at the University of Florida, Composing a Heart is a poignant and comical multimedia presentation that recalls our treasured cultural past through song and story. The program includes an audience  "talk-back" - Q & A and interaction with the performers.  Free and open to the public.
