Yakutia Airlines launches 
Japan-Sakhalin service starting May 1 

On May 1, 2016 Yakutia Airlines will inaugurate weekly scheduled service between Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (UUS) and Tokyo (Narita - NRT). The flights will operate on Sundays utilizing Sukhoi Superjet aircraft configured with Economy and Premium Economy service. Yakutia's schedule is coordinated with those of major carriers operating into Tokyo (NRT) from the US to allow for convenient connections. In addition, a  baggage-transfer agreement with United Airlines will permit travelers to check bags all the way through from the US to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, thus avoiding entry/exit formalities when connecting at Tokyo. Tickets are now on sale through AirRussia.US, qualified travel agents, and sales outlets across Russia.

The photo contest is aimed at creating an interest in the tourism potential of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on the international market. The contest is open to all participants.

Traveling with Guns from Anchorage to
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky


- Guns should be registered with customs before departure from the US to avoid difficulties when returning.
- Guns must be unloaded and packed in a hard sided, locked TSA-approved case.
- No ammunition is allowed to be packed inside the case with the firearm. Passengers are allowed to carry up to 11 lbs of ammunition. Ammunition must be packed in its original box or can be packed in a special hard sided ammunition case.  It cannot be packed in a random cardboard box or just loose inside a suitcase.
- Standard baggage rules and fees apply to hunters.
- Intent to transport weapons and ammunition must be declared to the airline at the time of booking and approved by the airline..

- Intent to transport weapons and ammunition must be declared at the time of booking and approved by the airline.
- Ammunition must be in the original packaging from the manufacturer or in packaging specifically designed to carry small amounts of ammunition (made of fiber, wood or metal). Ammunition is not accepted in magazines or clips.
- Each item must be checked, weighed and a unique, numbered bag-tag attached. Passengers must possess authorization from Russian authorities to transport weapons. Up to five individual rifles and 1000 cartridges are permitted for transportation throughout Russian territory. Excess quantity/weight charges apply.

Traveling with Guns on Domestic Russian Flights beyond Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

- Transportation of weapons on domestic Russian flights is only permitted for foreign citizens if they are accompanied by a Russian citizen with a permit to carry weapons.
