SITUATION

Efrem Andrews, owner of Elite Tactical Laser Tag, wanted to open a premier tactical laser tag venue that gives players a fully immersed laser tag experience in Florence, South Carolina. Efrem needed financing to get his business started but like many small business start-ups, he was not able to secure conventional financing.

SOLUTION

Efrem was referred to SCCLF by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Florence Darlington Tech. The SBDC was working with him on his business plan. SCCLF provided Efrem with an $80,000 loan for machinery, equipment, fixtures and working capital.

IMPACT

This funding will allow a new minority-owned small business to be opened in Florence. Elite Tactical Laser Tag will provide an interactive leisure activity for Florence residents, stimulate economic activity, and create new employment opportunities for residents from the low to moderate income neighborhoods in Florence.
