Facebook can be a fun and sometimes frustrating place to keep in touch with others, but nothing beats it when it comes to spreading good news, and requests for help. Facebook has gone wild in March as it's Hemophilia Awareness Month. Red ribbons and blood drop icons abound...
But so do photos of children in need in far away places. We have a campaign to get 31 children sponsored. We already have 16. Can we get just 15 more? Spread the word on Facebook by sharing our newsletter and our posts. Ask your Facebook friends to help us reach our goal. Sponsor a child, make a difference, and make Hemophilia Awareness Month more than a rallying cry; make it a month where little lives are forever changed!

New Program Country
Welcome, Hemophilia Society of Bangladesh!
Save One Life is pleased to welcome the Hemophilia Society of Bangladesh (HSB) as our 16th country since our founding and 42nd current program partner!
HSB was established in 1994 and now has over 650 registered patients. There are an estimated 12,500 people with hemophilia in the country. Similar to most of the countries where we work, outreach to educate and identify patients is a major focus of HSB, as well as lobbying the government to increase hemophilia support.
We look forward to having children available to sponsor very soon!

Never Lose Hope
An inspiring story

When I was a small boy, I lived with my family in a village of 3,000 people in the state of Gujarat in India. Both of my parents were farm laborers, earning less than $100 per month. We lived in a one-room hut on the farm where my parents worked.
My two younger brothers and I have severe hemophilia A, but we didn't know it back then. It was a very difficult time. All of us suffered brain hemorrhages. My left knee became so badly crippled from untreated bleeds that I was bedridden and missed years of school.

You can imagine the incredible change that happened when my family learned about the Hemophilia Federation (India) and the local chapter in Rajkot. We moved to the outskirts of Rajkot to have better access to medical treatment, and the chapter took us under its wing.
The chapter sponsored me to receive corrective surgery on my knee in Pune. When I returned, I went back to school and started ninth grade at the age of 21. It was difficult, and I felt very odd going to school with classmates who were seven years younger than me!
After completing tenth grade, I decided to pursue a thee-year diploma course in information technology. At this point a new ray of light came into my life through Save One Life, which awarded me a scholarship for my education. With medical support from the chapter and financial support from Save One Life, I was bound to succeed.
Today I am so proud to announce that, at age 26, I cleared my diploma course with a 7.96 out of 10 and got admission into Surat Government Engineering College on my own merit!
I am so thankful for the support I've received from all corners of the world for my development and studies. Thanks to all who helped transform my life!

r Save One Life! His tour will run from July 17 to
September 11.
This is the fifth year Barry has cycled to raise awareness about hemophilia and funds for Save One Life. To date he has ridden over 10,000 miles and helped to raise over $150,000!
