Resolution in Memory of Thomas Moore
 
Jennifer Robinson presented a resolution in memory of T homas Moore, a former Chairman of the Triangle J Board of Delegates and Johnston County Commissioner, who passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015. Mr. Moore served as a Johnston County Commissioner from 1996 until 2004. He was appointed a delegate to the Triangle J Board in 1997 and served until 2004. Mr. Moore was Chairman of the Board of Delegates in 2004. 

ACTION:  The  Board of Delegates  observed a Moment of Silence  and adopted a Resolution in Memory and Honor of Thomas Moore. 

 
Introduction of New Staff Members and Legal Counsel

A hearty welcome to Inas Al-Rawas, the new Area Agency on Aging Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman,  and Jenny Halsey, the new Planner II with Triangle J's Energy and Environment Program.

Welcomed attorney Kris Gardner,  a partner with Tharrington Smith, LCC. He will serve as counsel to TJCOG. Kris' service as a  former member of the Morrisville Town Council affords him the experience and knowledge to serve us well.
Foreign Trade Zone #93
 
Triangle J administers a federal grant for administration of Foreign Trade Zone #93 (FTZ #93). The FTZ #93 Rates, Tariff, and Legal Review Board met on Thursday, March 10, 2016 and reviewed and accepted the 2015 FTZ #93 Annual Report. Amanda Hellman and Renée Boyette presented the 2015 FTZ #93 Annual Report.  

ACTION:  The Board of Delegates unanimously approved. 

Executive Director's Report
 
Lee Worsley gave an update on the March 4 meeting of The Forum and presented the new annual report. You can find it online here. 

Lee also introduced Renee Boyette as  the Director of Administration and Member Services, a new position at TJCOG.
