Children love books and children love to move; so reading books that encourage physical activity is a natural pairing! Here are some book titles that encourage movement:
- The Busy Body Book by Lizzy Rockwell
- Bounce, Wiggle, or Stretch (all by Doreen Cronin and Scott Menchin)
- Move! by Robin Page and Steve Jenkins
SeasonalEating for the Season: Apricots

Relatives to peaches, apricots are small, golden orange fruits, with velvety skin and flesh, not too juicy but definitely smooth and sweet. Full of potassium, fiber, Vitamin A and C, fresh apricots usually come into season late spring. However, dried and canned apricots are available year-round.

PLAYVIDEOPLAY Video Series: Underarm Throw

This month's PLAY video focuses on the underarm throw. Use the underarm throw to teach children about distance (near or far), height (high or low), and speed (fast or slow).

University of Minnesota's Healthy Start, Healthy State Child Care Provider Survey
The University of Minnesota is inviting MN providers to take an online survey, "Healthy Start, Healthy State," in order to better understand the challenges that early child care and education providers might face in improving nutrition and physical activity practices. Survey results will influence support, resources and training. The survey will likely take less than 30 minutes to complete, and you are able to save and resume at any time.
