New Materials, teacher and student opportunities, and exciting events!
New Year, New MGA Activities
2016 promises to be a great year for the Michigan Geographic Alliance with the introduction of our Family Geography Night Kit and our first ever Geofest! We are also preparing to support educators with the possible shift in Michigan Social Studies Content Expectations.

By continuing our strong partnerships with higher education institutes in Michigan and around the globe, we will to continue to expand opportunities to provide high-quality geography education to students around the state.
Family Geography Night is Back
All new, the Family Geography Kit includes everything you need to host a dynamic event to get students and families excited about geography and its importance in our increasingly global world.  Kits may be borrowed from the MGA for only $75 to help offset the cost of shipping and handling.

Student Spotlight

Wilson Middle School's Verizon Innovative App Challenge team, sponsored by MGA teacher consultant Jenna Purdu, just won Best in State for middle school app design. Students used a map of Wyandotte parks to analyze their relative location to main attractions within the city. The app will allow users to locate parks as well as report maintenance issues within the parks.

Voting for fan favorite is until 1/31/16. Help them win by texting pop2 to 22333.
