Folsom Gets 1,600+ New Trees this Spring
Trees are an important community asset, as they clean our air and water, save energy, provide cooling shade, and beautify our community. Folsom will add more than 1,600 new trees to its urban forest this spring, as the City celebrates its 10th year designated as a "Tree City USA" by the Arbor Day Foundation. Trees will be planted at various parks and trails throughout Folsom, and volunteer opportunities are available.
Volunteer for Trails Day, Arbor Day and Creek Week Events Saturday, April 9

Trails Day/Arbor Day
Join community volunteers as we work to enhance Folsom's Johnny Cash Trail. Volunteers are needed to plant and stake 100 new native trees along the trail segment, and add mulch and irrigation around the plantings. All volunteers receive a free commemorative Trails Day T-shirt, lunch and beverages - plus the satisfaction of contributing to the community. The event is sponsored by the City of Folsom. The event is free, but you must pre-register to participate. Register online at http://webtrac.folsom.ca.us .

This event is sponsored by the Urban Creeks Council as part of the Regional Creek Week activities, in partnership with the City of Folsom.
