WHAT HAS LARRY ROBBIN BEEN UP TO LATELY?
Here are a few of the things I have been doing since the last newsletter. Rising Sun Energy Systems used my consulting session, How to Go From Placement to Partnership with Employers, to help them learn how to get money and other benefits from their business partners. The California Workforce Association Youth Employment Conference featured my trainings Job Readiness From a Private Sector Perspective and Digging for Gold! How to Find Hidden Assets to Employment in At-Risk Youth! I have been providing consulting to the SparkPoint Centers to help them shift their program design from a job to a career focus in their work with low income job seekers. The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals Annual Conference sponsored my training You Can Be a Change Agent! How to Increase Employment Motivation in the Hard-to-Employ. I am consulting with Community Gatepath to develop an outreach tool that can be used by programs serving people with disabilities to get employers to hire their program participants. In my capacity as the WOIA technical assistance provider for the city of Oakland CA., I provided training on how to improve OJT outcomes with employers. These are just a few of my latest activities. 2015 promises to be a very busy and productive year! I hope I get the opportunity to consult or train for your organization.
