The Bay Area will be host to Super Bowl 50! Numerous events take place around the big game but the spiritually impacting event will be the
Super Bowl (Prayer) Breakfast
, held on Saturday,
February 6
at the Hilton Union Square San Francisco at 8 am.
Since 1988, the NFL-sanctioned Super Bowl Breakfast has been held in the host city of the Super Bowl. The Breakfast is an outreach to business executives drawing sell-out crowds of 1,500 - 2,000. In addition to Tony Dungy, Brent Jones and Benjamin Watson, Roger Staubach (Dallas Cowboys, 1969-1979) and Jerry Kramer (Green Bay Packers, 1958-1968) are part of the Feb. 6 program. More former players and personalities will be added to the program to help celebrate 5 decades of Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl Breakfast features the presentation of the
Bart Starr Award to a current NFL player, voted on by his peers, for outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. Past winners include Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Brent Jones, Mike Singletary and others. Highlights of the program will include interviews with Super Bowl players via video, exciting NFL Films highlights, interviews, humor, personal stories, testimonies and a faith-based message.
