Marijuana use is on the rise. A recent survey tells us that 27% of high schools seniors in Oakland County say that they've used marijuana in the last 30 days. That's higher than in years past and the rate of use is increasing.
In an effort to reverse this trend, ACHC members launched "Clear the Smoke; Protecting our kids from marijuana," which is based upon Mobilizing Michigan's research-based campaign to educate all sectors about the dangers of youth marijuana.

Troy Community Coalition
Hosts Happy Summer Campers
The Troy Community Coalition is hosting their 21st annual summer camp. Over 70 children between the ages of 7 and 13 are registered for this fun and educational day program that started July 7 and will run through July 30
On the first day of camp, the campers played dodge ball as well as other fun ice breakers and team-building activities. A new activity, the egg drop, was introduced on the first day of camp.
Campers were given a small bag of basic supplies such as popsicle sticks, straws, and cotton balls. In small groups, they were challenged to build a contraption to protect a raw egg when dropped from a height of 12 feet. Campers were given 15 minutes to collaborate and build. Only two eggs out of 10 survived the drop.
