Happy New Year!

Looking back on 2015, it was an interesting year. Two all-new expanded editions of MEG (combined with MEG: ORIGINS) were published, 5,000 limited edition hardbacks in January, the new paperback in December. Sandwiched between those releases was the hardback release of VOSTOK (Loch-2) and a signed movie deal with Warner Bros., as well as the launch of A & M Publishing.

Here's a sneak preview of 2016:

As of January 1st, Amazon, B&N, and the other outlets finally have their warehouses stocked with the new MEG paperbacks. With casting finalized for the movie, we expect an "official" announcement soon. A & M Publishing will release DOG TRAINING THE AMERICAN MALE & SHARKMAN in paperback. Tor/Forge will release the mass market paperback of VOSTOK in the spring, followed by the hardback debut of MEG 5: NIGHTSTALKERS in June. And I may be able to sneak out UNACKNOWLEDGED, my new release in late 2016. I guarantee that book will blow you away. Last - to raise money to support the non-profit Adopt-An-Author reading program, A & M Publishing will be printing eye-popping 24 x 36 inch glossy hi-rez posters of the new MEG paperback surfer cover. Made for framing, these $24.99 posters will be shipped in cardboard poster tubes and signed by me. I have the first one framed and on my wall - the details are incredible!

But I want to do something special for my loyal MEGheads. So I've been huddling with my partners at A & M Publishing and we came up with a unique offer... provided there is enough interest as it requires a hefty investment of money and my time.

There are approximately 2000 MEG limited edition hardbacks left. A & M has negotiated a buy-back from Rebel Press of this stock to provide them to schools using the Adopt-An-Author reading program as classroom sets. To raise funds for the program, I am willing to offer the following for MEGheads - provided there is interest.

A SIGNED MEG hardback ($24.99) & a MEG POSTER ($24.99) - BOTH for $24.99 (plus S & H)

So you get the hardback for $24.99 plus a free poster... or you get the poster for $24.99 AND a free signed hardback (whatever sounds best). All of the hardbacks will be signed by me - with the chance to get the message personalized!

Here's how it would work: A & M Publishing would accept pre-paid orders in January. In February I would fly up to our warehouse in Arkansas and spend 3 days personally signing every book (I'll video-tape it so you know it's really me). The books and posters will be mailed in sturdy cardboard boxes and tubes - NO PLASTIC ENVELOPES!

Anyone ordering after February 1st would still receive the 2 for 1 package with a signed book, only the book would not be personalized (I can only do that in the warehouse).

Please understand, physically signing 2,000 + books will take me about 12 to 14 hours (remember, I have Parkinsons). So this will probably be the first and LAST time I ever offer to do something crazy like this. But it's a great cause, and I love my MEGheads... so what the heck. But YOU need to tell me if you like the package.

If you think you'd be interested, simply send me an email at [email protected] between January 4 - 11th, Subject line MEGhead offer - YES. I'll tally the emails and make a decision by Jan. 15.

May this new year bring you and yours good health, happiness, and prosperity.

MEG expanded edition paperback hits # 2 on Ingram's best-seller list!
Why couldn't you find any MEG books? Turns out books were selling faster than stores could keep them in stock! And there is a good reason: The new mass market may be the best MEG novel published, featuring MEG: ORIGINS and a completely rewritten version of the original MEG, plus new chapters, expanded scenes, and 17 original images - all for $9.99

To purchase your copy, call your local bookstore first. If they are out, have them order you a copy.

MEG Director Eli Roth Speaks out:
Though I'm not a big fan of gore, I think Eli Roth was a great choice to be MEG's director.

WRITING COACH program: Launching new writers for 2016
Over the last 13 years I've helped novice writers get their work published by teaching them how to develop plot lines, characters...and editing their work to make sure it is top-notch. The results - 30% + of my students get published! If you feel you have what it takes I'm offering my services to two candidates in 2016.

STEP 1: Email a one paragraph synopsis to [email protected] SUBJECT: Writing Coach Submission.

STEP 2: I will select the best 3 - 6 entries and set-up a brainstorming call with each writer to find the best 2 candidates. Calls are free. If you are selected as one of the 2 finalists, the fee (which covers potentially 1-2 years of coaching & editing) is $3,599, payable in 2 payments or one payment of $2,999.00.

**BIG NEWS FOR ALL WRITING COACH CLIENTS**

A & M Publishing will be offering to publish all WC GRADUATES!

Joke of the Month
If you are in sales, you'll love this scene from the movie ODD JOBS. I used to show this in sales meetings when I sold whole-house water systems door-to-door before I became an author (thank God!). The lesson - never prejudge a customer.

Baked Parmesan Zucchini Rounds
Ingredients:
2 medium-sized zucchini
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Garlic salt & freshly ground black pepper, optional

Directions:
Place oven rack in center position of oven. Preheat to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil (lightly misted with cooking spray) OR parchment paper. Wash and dry zucchini, and cut into 1/4-inch thick slices. Arrange zucchini rounds on prepared pan, with little to no space between them. If desired, lightly sprinkle zucchini with garlic salt and freshly ground black pepper. Use a small spoon to spread a thin layer of Parmesan cheese on each slice of zucchini. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until Parmesan turns a light golden brown. (Watch these closely the first time you make them and pull them out of the oven early if the Parmesan is golden before 15 minutes!) Serve immediately.  Helpful Tips: You can experiment with the thickness of your zucchini slices and the ratio of Parmesan to zucchini to determine your sweet spot, but we find that 1/4-inch thick slices work nicely. Regardless of how you decide to customize these, we recommend making more than you anticipate needing. For one thing, the zucchini rounds do shrink a bit during the baking process. But on top of that, they are just so dang tasty.
