Meet Chase's Superhero

Your Monthly News & Updates
kidney walk
With Ontario's Kidney Walks just a few short months away, our volunteers and employee teams have been reaching out and connecting with our veteran walkers. Time and time again, walkers identify that it is the feeling of community that really makes the walks so memorable. We hope you will join us whether you are a seasoned walker or this might be your first event - you are welcome and you will find a strong kidney community by your side.

Speaking of community, last week the Ontario Branch launched an Ontario-focused Facebook page. A successful page is one where the community helps drive the content - so please like us on Facebook and join the conversation online.

Kidney Walk Ambassadors Chase and Dana Share Their Story

While some children idolize their favourite hockey star, musician or comic book character, Chase has the welcome benefit of living with his hero. Last year, Chase had a successful kidney transplant after his father, Dana, volunteered as a living donor.

2015 National Impact Report

At The Kidney Foundation of  Canada, people with kidney
disease are the focus of  all we do. In 2015, this
focus was clearer than ever. For the first time, we had
a unique opportunity to put patients at the centre of not only our programs and services, but also the research
portfolio.

Learn how The Kidney Foundation is fulfilling its mission in providing services and support to ease the burden of kidney disease. Ontario residents Roger Wharmby (page 8) and Richard Bernreiter (page 6) are featured in the national report.

Volunteers Recognized at Annual Celebration

This spring, the Ontario Branch of The Kidney Foundation of Canada came
together to celebrate the efforts of valuable volunteers from across the province. The awards ceremony took place on May 14 and was hosted at the Kingbridge conference centre in King City. Volunteers are the heart of The Kidney Foundation. The awards presented recognized community members who displayed exemplary examples of caring, leadership and philanthropy to benefit those touched by kidney disease across Canada.
