Ranchhand: Our frustration is nothing compared to the level of frustration the Iraqi citizen must be experiencing. Abadi is doing all he can to close every possible loop hole for a successful prosecution of Maliki & his cronies. Until that happens I don't see RI moving forward.
Second guessing Abadi & trying to figure out what they are doing & why... is a waste of time. To me the the stress, anger, disappointments, etc. just isn't worth saccrificing my health & mental well being over something I have no say so or control.

The Federal Reserve leaves rates unchanged
Iko Ward: They aren't raising rates because we'll be in an asset backed currency soon. They'll wait until the dust settles and the world revalues.
Glajef: IKO... If there was not an impending RV, would they not have raised rates? Because if they don't raise rates, they cannot lower them from here to bail us out of an economic downturn. Is that a logical theory?

Glajef...it is logical if we remain Fiat but we will not. We may even exchange into asset backed funds. The FED is lost. Most market analysts are lost. Unlike the change to Fiat in 1971 when we controlled so much if the world market, the world markets now control us to a great degree. We are by no means doomed, but we have many, many more partners to deal with. The sooner these old farts in Washington admit this, the faster we will be able to react and adjust.

Never done this before, as a matter of fact I'm mostly just a lurker. Anyway, we have been in contact with a local bank. Got brave and opened up a conversation with personal banker regarding our currencies.
They of course poo pooed on the dinar but because they could pull up the dong on the computer they let us know what the selling rate was at the time. Today, when we talked to the same person she said that she couldn't find the dong listed anymore.
She was very puzzled. We asked the question..." would the currency be pulled off the screen if it was going to make a big change?" and she replied yes as a matter of fact it would. At that point her eyes were sparkling and we got lots of big smiles.

Millionday: The House of Representatives postponed a vote on its second day of the draft amendment to the Law of Investment Law No. 13 of 2006.
The MP said the National Alliance Majid Gharrawi told all of Iraq [where] that "the parliament postponed a vote on the amendment until after the Eid al-Adha holiday for the existence of a legal notes on it."
The House of Representatives has held its day of the vote and the reading of a number of draft laws regarding been postponed hosted by Chairman Minister Haider al-Abadi until after the Eid holiday.
