Preventative Health and Wellness RHI Webinar Series 
 
Preventing disease and detecting illnesses in the early stages are important to living a healthy life. Preventative health behaviors are crucial for all individuals, but especially to those living in rural areas. Sometimes rural areas lack access to healthcare and other valuable resources.  RHI recognizes the importance of preventative care, which is why have started this webinar series. RHI Webinar - Living and Working Well: Health Promotion for People with Mobility Impairments

Presented by Tracy Boehm and Naomi Kimbell, from the University of Montana Rural Institute Research and Training Center on Disability if Rural communities (RTC: Rural). 
Join us to learn about two community-based programs that support the health, quality of life, 
and participation of people living with disabilities in Montana. Topics will include: the behavioral risks and health status of people with disabilities, secondary conditions, health promotion for people with disabilities, community partnerships and capacity building. Register here! 


Tread of the Undead Zombie 5.5K in Missoula, MT

Frightful fun ensues as humans must navigate three 1.16 miles laps through a zombie-infested course in this untimed race. After the event zombies and humans shake hands, munch on snacks and share stories of the zombie attack. Find more information here.   

 

RHI Webinar - Smart Snacks in Schools: Fueling Student for Success
September 18, 2014, 3:30 - 4:30 pm   

Presented by Katie Bark, the project director of the Montana Team Nutrition Program, along with Montana school wellness champions. Join us to learn about the new Smart Snack rule that schools are implementing this year to make it easy for students to access nutrient-rich snack foods and beverages while at school. Strategies for engaging students and steps for successful implementation will be shared. Register here!
