Advocates for Tufts ROTC April Events

Join us for two events in April!

Would You Want Your Sister to Join the Military?

Monday, April 6 in Remis Sculpture Court at 6pm

Today's military offers women many superior career opportunities.  It is one of the few fields where women receive equal pay for equal work. Women can gain excellent career training in thousands of jobs, assume major responsibilities, join the leadership ranks, and find fulfillment in serving their country.

The integration of women in the military has faced many challenges.  Resistance to change, gender issues, and the need to adjust working environments have resulted in incidents - all too often reported in the media - that cannot be allowed to continue.

Tufts is fortunate to have students who are veterans of military service.  Four of these students from the Fletcher School will share their personal experiences and offer their perspectives on:

  • Creating a positive, forward-looking environment of mutual respect
  • Identifying and stopping typical instances of sexual abuse or harassment
  • Avoiding the "bystander mentality"
  • Accessing resources for getting help and support
The evening will begin with a short reception at 6pm; remarks from our panelists begin at 6:30pm.  Light refreshments will be served.

All members of the Tufts community are invited.  We especially welcome those with a connection to or interest in the military.

Registration is available here.  We hope you will join us!
