DECEMBER AT THE MUSEUM

Welcome to December! As we start to close down 2015, we're also getting ready to jump into another jam-packed year of exhibitions, programs, and events. As a reminder, we'll be closed Thursday and Friday December 24 and 25 in observance of Christmas. We'll also be closing at 2:00 pm on December 31, and closed on January 1. Happy Holidays!

Bring a Friend Day
It's the season for sharing! On December 10, show your love for the Museum with Bring a Friend Day. Members: use your guest passes to bring a friend to the Museum and share your love for art. Students: celebrate the end of the semester with a burst of creativity and stress relief. Activities include docent tours, backrubs from Stressbusters, and guided meditation. Blake Little: Photographs from the Gay Rodeo

Opening December 19 -  Blake Little: Photographs from the Gay Rodeo . Consisting of 41 black and white photographs taken by Blake Little between 1988 and 1992,  Photographs from the Gay Rodeo  documents the gay rodeo circuit and the lives of many of its participants in those years. Little, a celebrated LA photographer, uses his stunning images to explore the natures of identity in the West. The Museum is excited to have Blake Little join us for an opening reception and discuss his work on Thursday, January 14 at 5:00 pm. There is a $10 suggested donation to support Museum exhibitions and educational programs. This exhibition was curated by the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, and is a Program of ExhibitsUSA, a national division of Mid-America Arts Alliance and The National Endowment for the Arts.  Learn more
Visit Citizens Warehouse with the Museum
Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Citizens Warehouse and the Citizens Artist Collective with the Museum! Alec Laughlin and several of the artists will discuss the importance of the Warehouse in the community, and offer a special tour of some of the studios. The visit also includes a copy of the Citizens Warehouse book, valued at $40. Light refreshments will be served.
