A NEW YEAR, A NEW VISION
Dear Members and Friends,
As the newly elected President of the NKBA Susquehanna Valley Chapter, I am thrilled to participate in what is a great collection of professionals. I am humbled by the collective wisdom of the group. I am excited to network and get to know all of you, and what makes you energized. We have a great mix of seasoned veterans and young leaders which will allow all of us to become better at what we do.
Elizabeth Marcocci, the 2015 President, asked me to select a single word for 2016. I chose the word "inspire". I did this because I feel that it will be my role to inspire the chapter to do more, and be more. We have to understand the needs of our members, and make sure that the chapter satisfies their needs in learning, networking, and in having a common voice. I am excited to see the positive energy in the NKBA and especially to see it on display at KBIS.
At our recent board meeting, one of the courses from the NKBA University was mentioned as we were transitioning our new roles. It was succession planning. We were already thinking who would be the next President, VP of Programs, etc. This to me displayed the level of commitment from the board. They, as a group, are thinking long term, to make sure we are sustaining what we are working on. To not just plant seeds, but to make sure the plants stay in bloom and bear fruit. Inspiring for sure.
To be the President of the NKBA Susquehanna Valley is an honor that I can not put into words. I hope that, like me, you will discover the value that the NKBA offers to learn, grow and be inspired!
