2015 Educational Events Recap
West Coast UCSD Moores Cancer Center and the PMP Research Foundation Symposium - San Diego, CA - September 12th . This educational event hosted by Dr. Andrew Lowy and featuring Dr. H. Richard Alexander proved to be a great sponsorship for the PMPRF. Working closely with PMP Pals President, Chris Piekarski, we were able to effectively support Dr. Lowy and his team and highlight their program. Midwest PMP/Appendix Cancer Symposium - Edward Hospital - Naperville (Chicago), IL - October 6th - Hosted by Dr. George Salti, we held our first Midwest educational event which highlighted Edward Hospital's team approach for treatment of PMP. Dr. Paul Sugarbaker was the keynote speaker providing fantastic information to a large group of primary care physicians in attendance and by satellite to their affiliated physicians. Videos from this event are also on our You Tube channel !

Con gratulations to Dr. Paul Sugarbaker, inaugural recipient of the Lisa Luciano Memorial PMP/Appendix Cancer Pioneer Award, presented by the PMP Research Foundation.  

Fifth Annual UMass/PMPRF PMP/Appendix Cancer Patient-Practitioner Symposium - Worcester, MA - November 11th.
Hosted by Dr. Laura Lambert with guest speakers Dr. Jesus Esquivel and Dr. Switzer, medical staff, patients and caregivers learned about the latest advances in the treatment of PMP and Appendiceal Cancer. The videos are on our You Tube Channel.
Recent 2015 Fundraising Events
Hoops for a Cure - Mooresville, NC - September 26th . The 1st Annual Hoops for a Cure Basketball Challenge was a great success, raising over $8,000 dollars. A lot of awareness was raised with television time and newspaper articles which were shared locally and internationally! Scott tells us the ball is already rolling for Hoops for a Cure 2016. Thank you Scott Montgomery for all of your efforts!

6th Annual Crawl in the Fall
held in Brandford, CT
in memory of our friend Doug Selmont, exceeded their fundraising goal raising over $5,500! Thanks to Doug's wife Lindsey and her team of supporters!

Rare Disease Day 2016
NORD is the official U.S. sponsor of Rare Disease Day which occurs on the last day of February each year.

On Rare Disease Day, millions of patients and their families around the world share their stories to promote awareness of the challenges, hopes and needs of those living with rare diseases.
