We appreciate your interest in our organization and our mission; to help fund the ongoing research to find a cure for cancer. Look here every month for our most recent news, our upcoming events, and ways that you can help. See our past news here. As long as there is research to be done, our voices of hope will sing out for the cure!
The Fall Gala: To Life!

Don't miss our upcoming fall gala; To Life!  This year's performance celebrates survivors and caregivers and will deliver a magical evening of music and dance honoring loved ones living through and beyond cancer.

Thanks to the research being done at places like the Termeer Center, every year we make greater strides in our ability to treat cancer.  This means more success stories, more loved ones who remain with us, more days.  Join us in our celebration of those days!

Doors open 7pm on October 17th.  Tickets can be purchased through the North Shore Music Theater.

We continue to look for sponsors for the event as well as advertisers for our program.  There are many levels of support - for more info contact Greg Chastain at [email protected].
Congratulations, Dana!

We're so proud of Dana for being one of the recipients of the Myra Kraft MVP Award for Volunteerism! Dana Siegal is our Executive Artistic Director as well as a Board Member, roles that she has served in for more than five years.

The awards ceremony held at Gillette Stadium allowed Dana the opportunity to connect directly with Robert Kraft (photo). She works incredibly hard for Voices of Hope, and it was wonderful to see her get recognition from such a prestigious organization. We extend our sincere appreciation for the $5,000 grant to Voices of Hope which accompanied Dana's MVP Award.

Recent Events
We hope everyone enjoyed this warm summer!  While our members spent a fair amount of time at the beach, on vacation, or enjoying well-deserved family time, we also able to participate in several local events.

Voices of Hope took the field at Fenway to sing the National Anthem on June 3rd.  We were thrilled to sing at Fenway for a second time! As an added benefit, we were joined by our raffle winners, Amanda Harmeling and Scotty Anderson, and special guest performer, Tommy Lasorda!   It was a fun night!

The Eastern Star Chapter hosted a fundraiser for Angel Flight NE, and invited VOH to perform at the event.  Angel Flight is a wonderful organization with the mission of getting children to their critical healthcare via free, volunteer piloted flights, and we were moved to be able to participate in their fundraiser.

Our July golf event, the 5th  Annual Barbara Byrd Memorial was a huge success.  With nearly 60 golfers at the Far Corners Golf Course in Boxford Mass, everyone enjoyed the day.  We thank Walmart, who supported us as a generous lead sponsor as well as a number of  other businesses who contributed to the event.  Thanks to our VOH golf committee members and volunteers for organizing this event.

VOH sang the National Anthem again for the Lowell Spinners at their Star Wars themed night!  It was a crowded, family-fun event, and we were pleased to be there.

Newburyport's Yankee Homecoming invited us to sing on their main stage, and we did a 40 minute set for their afternoon crowd.  The event was amazing, and many VOH members stayed late to enjoy the fireworks.

Finally, we sang at the Garden of Hope Celebration for our friends at the Conquer Cancer Coalition.  We are so moved to be a part of their annual event, and were honored to participate in this year's special dedication of the gazebo to Mayor Menino.

Spotlight: Small Fundraisers are a Big Deal

When every dollar counts, so does every fundraiser, large or small. Over the years, many of our incredibly dedicated and talented members have come up with some creative ways (outside of our performances) to raise additional funds for VOH. We'd need an entire newsletter to name them all, but here are a few efforts from members who donated services or a percentage of proceeds from sales:

Jen Bertolino organizes online sales parties like Jamberry Nails.
Mike Consoli donates a percentage of his real estate sales.
Stephen Cote and Elise Boland organized a Texas Roadhouse Holiday Gift Card promotion.
Chris Desjardins, April Foley and the Jazz Disciples held a fundraising concert.
Kimberly Fanning held a yard sale on our behalf.
Amy Falk donates money from her Hope ROCKS and Jewelry lines.
Curt Fennell donates a  portion of his website profits.
Crisanto Guadiz offers weekly Zumba at the Nest.
Sandra Huerta and April Foley donated money from their two woman cabaret.
Angela Noble organized Pampered Chef and Origami Owl promotions.
Ed Siegal donates portion of sales of his homemade Tuscan Style Salsa.
Tracy Sullivan organized a Bravelet sales promotion
Allison, Grace, and Rosemary Takacs sell their handmade beaded bracelets.
Carol Watson ran an underfunder on our behalf.
Rob and Chloe Webster sell their fresh eggs for us.

So many of you take your time and your talents and put them to use for us not just onstage, but off as well.  We're so very grateful for all your work, and all your efforts. Thank you!

We appreciate your continued support as we aim to increase our fundraising goal every year. Our 2014 fundraising efforts allowed us to donate $62,000 to the Henri and Belinda Termeer Center For Targeted Therapies at Mass General Hospital. We couldn't do it without you!
