Why is this topic relevant to Small Businesses?
Many small businesses, in their early stages face instability and struggle to get to sustainable positive cash flow. Turning around a small business experiencing instability or propelling a stable business to next level of growth, requires among others, an understanding of measuring and optimizing its operations.
Workshop has (3) distinct discussion sets:
1. INITIAL SET: Defines small business & discusses vulnerabilities/limitations of small businesses and, makes the case that successful business results have to have successfully managed operations.
2. CORE SET : The 3Ps ( People, Process, Product) of operations are presented to be interdependent and illustrates how & why small businesses need the right people, managing the right processes to deliver high quality products on time, to customers.
3. FINAL SET: Five (5) takeaways attendees of small businesses can start implementing right away on their own, or with assistance from SCORE mentors, SCBC consultants & SBA resources.
He has Engineering & Business degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology and University of Chicago respectively. Masoom had a long career at various levels in Operations Management in US and ex US locations, with Abbott Laboratories, a fortune 100 company. Currently Masoom is an independent consultant, and as Principal MAC Group LLC provides services to small businesses in the area of 'business & operational due diligence", for small businesses to achieve stable performance and to strategize on future growth.
