PHOTO CAMPAIGN AGAINST AGEISM

During the Christmas season you'll likely be snapping lots of photos. While you have your camera or smart phone handy, you might want to consider snapping a photo for the World Health Organization's Campaign - #YearsAhead and Valued.

The campaign is challenging ageism by asking for photos that demonstrate how older adults from around the world continue to play valuable roles in their families and communities.

Photos can be submitted on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #YearsAhead or sent to [email protected] with the subject line: YearsAhead.

The campaign continues until the end of December. To see a sampling of photos submitted so far search Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #YearsAhead or visit the WHO's campaign web page.

It is essential for community development practitioners to have an understanding of marketing and branding as it applies to specific organizations and initiatives as well as to achieving specific behavioral goals for "social good". It is also becoming increasingly evident that marketing can be viewed as a vehicle for encouraging connection, cooperation, and community engagement rather than competition. This webinar will provide an understanding of these concepts as well as examples and specific tools and resources that can be applied.
