in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet
big in beauty, so short on life yet long on effect."

Spring Workshop         BRAND NEW!
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Wildflowers & Wildwater,  April 22 - 27, 2016
The best place to be in the spring is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The variety and number of wildflowers is astonishing and provides a sight of incredible beauty. The Smokies, with its huge mountains and lush valleys, has more species of wildflowers than almost any other place in the world. And its rushing streams are at their best in the springtime as well.

This workshop is timed for when the wildflowers are at their peak, and the waters glisten with life. Some of my favorite species are the Crested Dwarf Iris (in the main photo above), Trillium, Columbine, Lady Slipper, and so much more.

Learn new techniques and artistic approaches to shooting macro, scenics, and moving water. This workshop is packed with incredible photographic opportunities, lots of education, image critiques, some Lightroom instruction , and a great deal of fun.

Based on the "quiet side of the Smokies," the small village of Townsend will be our hub. That puts us very close to the park entrance, as well as Cade's Cove, Tremont, and other special locations where the flowers and streams  are unsurpassed.

For more information, email us or call 757-773-0194. Limited to just 10 photographers, this workshop will fill fast.

  Great New Gear!
I'm always on the lookout for great new photo gear that works as advertised, is beneficial to us as photographers, and is reasonably priced. I've just discovered a great item that you should know about. It is the BosStrap camera straps.

These are the latest generation of sling straps, and they are the best I have found. I have used sling straps in the past, but some are uncomfortable, and others connect via the camera's tripod socket which can be an inconvenience.

I've used both the BosStrap Generation 3 Sliding Sling Strap, and the
Side Slide Camera Strap. Both are excellent and well-made. My personal preference is the Side Slide Camera Strap since it fits nicely on my shoulder and allows me to easily glide the camera up to my eye for use, and back down to my side when walking. Both styles of straps feel very secure, and are extremely well made.

They are made in the USA of the best materials and workmanship, and the price is very reasonable.

The owner of the company and designer of the straps is Tom Fama, an avid photographer and former mechanical engineer, and an all-around nice guy.

You can get your BosStrap (either style) at a great discount for a limited time at Hunt's Photo And Video. Click here to get your 10% discount on all BosStrap products.

It was a superb and talented group of photographers.

This was a fantastic trip with a wide variety of photo opportunities . The beauty and scope of the images that participants capture, no matter where our location happens to be, is always impressive.
