In 2016, CAM will celebrate its 65th Annual Men's Doubles Classic bowling tournament. This event is a tradition that countless avid bowlers enjoy. Please mark your calendars and be sure to join us in February!

VoteNowVote Now - CAM Magazine 2015 Project of the Year

Voting is now available online for the CAM Magazine 2015 Project of the Year. The winner will be selected from the 12 projects that were featured in the October 2015 Special Issue of CAM Magazine.

Online votes are tabulated in conjunction with votes from the CAM Magazine Editorial Advisory Committee in December 2015. The winning project will be announced at the CAM Annual Meeting on February 3, 2016, at MotorCity Casino Hotel. The winning project team will receive a dazzling crystal Project of the Year award.

Online voting is open until December 7th.  Only one vote per computer is allowed.

TradeshowConstruction & Design Tradeshow 2016 - February 3, 2016

This one-day construction event will be held at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. It will be attended by construction owners, contractors, suppliers, architects and engineers. Show hours are 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The event will also host the CAM 130th Annual Meeting, CAM Magazine Special Issue Awards, and 2015 Construction Project of the Year Award, which will be held inside the Sound Board. CAMTEC, the training and education division of CAM, will offer classes during the tradeshow, as well.

mdotMDOT and Partners to Present "Metro Region Meeting and Networking Session"
 
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program and Southwest Detroit Business Association are partnering to host the "Metro Region Meeting and Networking Session."

Attendees will hear from MDOT about upcoming construction industry contracting opportunities within Metro and surrounding counties for FY 2016. Also invited are local and municipal government agencies to discuss other construction projects planned for 2016.

Who should attend? Construction, electrical, engineering, suppliers, and trucking firms would benefit from attendance. There will also be an opportunity to meet directly with surety, bonding and money lenders to speak to companies who plan to bid on opportunities shared at this event.
You will also hear success stories from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program, Bonding and Education Program, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program and MDOT's Small Business Program.

CarWalCarlson Walbridge Group, LLC Offers Expertise to Clients with Technology Driven Facility Needs

Carlson and Walbridge have formed a new venture, Carlson Walbridge Group, LLC, that will focus on the design, construction and design-build of technology driven facilities.

Carlson, headquartered in Irvine, CA, has been successfully designing and building major technology and mission critical facilities for clients for more than 30 of its 68 years in business.

Founded in 1916, Detroit-based Walbridge, a CAM Member, is a global construction services firm with expertise in multiple industries, including automotive, higher education, and industrial manufacturing,

The creation of Carlson Walbridge will leverage resources between the two companies, which remain independent and privately owned. The new venture will be based in Dallas and will operate from a combined 20 locations around the world.

"This increases the value we can offer clients, by combining the strengths of Carlson and Walbridge and bringing together our considerable expertise and resources," said William B. Presented by Langlois, Weigand & Associates, Inc. and hosted by the Greater Detroit Chapter of the ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers).

Each three-day review course is specifically designed for those preparing for the Safety Fundamentals Exam (ASP prep) and/or the Comprehensive Exam (CSP prep). Both tests must be passed in order to receive BCSP designation as a Certified Safety Professional.

Classes will be conducted from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm each day at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, located at: One Chrysler Drive, Auburn Hills, 48326 ( http://www.wpchryslermuseum.org).

Early Registration Fees (November 1 - December 4, 2015):
