Thank you to all who came to our Annual Veterans Day Celebration.       62 veterans (with approximately 100 total visitors) were specifically honored at the Junior/Senior High Campus through touching video presentations, rousing student-written speeches (by Allie Statzer and Mikaela McWhinnie), live artwork (by Isabella Collins and Taylor Spalding) , music and more! Special guest performances were given by the Elementary Music Group, who joined the  Junior/Senior High Choirs and Band to "wow" the audience with stirring, patriotic song and music throughout the entire program.

The National Honor Society students (led by Alexis Jenkins, Abby Stone, Olivia Nell, Laura Kindell, and Anna Holder and mentored by Mrs. Kim Stone) planned and implemented the entire program.   Stacks of prayer cards were given to each veteran as they arrived.  The students held a special breakfast for the visiting veterans that morning, and had CCS staff members and students praying for veterans, by name, the week prior to the program.  

Your efforts did indeed honor them, so well done, students!

Cincinnati Christian Schools was a big award winner at the 2015 Clean and Beautiful Community Awards sponsored by the organization Keep Cincinnati Beautiful.

Mrs. Gina Smearsoll accepted the award on behalf of the

2014-2015 Freshmen Honors Biology class. The winning entry, called "High School Students Become Environmental Educators," won the First Place Growing Green Habits Award. Mrs. Smearsoll was awarded $500 to use in the science department toward a future project.

CCS 3rd and 4th grade girls' volleyball team pushed themselves to their limits and became the GCCYS Volleyball Tournament Champions! All of the games were won within two or three sets, with the final game win against the 1 seed Mother Theresa!  (Other tournament game wins were against Sacred Heart, Saint Barts, and Summit Country Day.)

Go Cougars!

The Cappies (Critics and Awards Program of Cincinnati) is a program through which high school theatre and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in local newspapers. Each year, a handful of CCS students train to be Cappies critics, attending at least five shows to critique.

One of the many educational field trips scheduled this year is the 1st grade trip to the Newport Aquarium. The trip was in connection with their Bible/Science unit on animals in September.  

As a follow-up to this trip, they also did some activities relating to penguins afterward. 

Super fun learning!

What a super turnout!  The morning air was chilly, but 171 registered runners and walkers showed up to support their Athletic Boosters!  Congratulations to Matthew Floyd (pictured) and Katie Ruhlman (pictured), 1st place male and female runners, as well as to Brian Hallbach and Janie Cochran, 1st place male and female walkers!  In the 5-8 year category, Noah Speight came in first, as did Timmy Nagel for the 9-12 category!

Thanks to the event's 44 volunteers, including special thanks to Tim Speight, Event Chairperson, and Mark Phair, Event Promotions.  Thanks to everyone who participated!
