We all want our children to be happy, healthy, and well-nourished. If you also want your children to do well academically, you need to start from the inside out. Choose a well-balanced breakfast, a healthy lunch, and snacks that satisfy without all the processed sugars. Give your children a head start in school! Give them the nutrition they need to feed their bodies and brains for a successful school year while building lifelong habits!

As the first week of Advent comes to a close, the excitement and enthusiasm that this season brings is quite evident in our building!

The opening of St. Nick's Workshop has certainly been a source of energy, as our students carefully and thoughtfully purchase small gifts for their family members from our 8th grade class.  The support of this fundraiser has been tremendous and hopefully the spirit of giving has been reinforced.

On Thursday, our school family celebrated its Patronal Feast Day!  School Mass was celebrated by our Bishop and the liturgy was absolutely beautiful.  Bishop Da Cunha's homily touched the hearts of both young and old as he addressed the need for us to find the good in this world through our Catholic faith and the sharing of that faith through  evangelization .  The Mass was followed by a school assembly that consisted of a snack and some fun!  We learned more about our patron saint from Monsignor, listened to a few musical numbers under the direction of Mr. Borges and Miss Cournoyer,  had a few laughs (thanks to JibJab and Mr. Manzi),  and were the recipients of a school gift..... a drone!   The smiles, laughter and joy that filled the room were a blessing and a gift to all of the teachers and staff who work so hard to make St. Francis the school that it is!

As we eagerly await the coming of the Christ child this Christmas,  let us continue to be mindful of those less fortunate than ourselves.  Each of our classes is  lifting  in prayer the needs of their Advent Families.  Thank you for your generosity in providing gift cards for these families who are in great need, and for helping them to have a blessed Christmas!

Have a wonderful weekend, as we light the second candle of our Advent wreaths!

Daisy Pulls It Off, a comedy play by Denise Deegan, is a parody of wholesome adventure stories about life in a 1920s girls' English boarding school.  The winner of the Olivier Award and Drama Theatre Award for Best Comedy addresses the important theme of bullying, which Daisy, the play's heroine, is able to overcome by remaining true to herself and her values. The show is appropriate for all ages.
