What is better than spending the holidays on Cape Cod? Not much, that is for sure. Here at Flower Angels, we understand that many of our elderly in nursing homes and care facilities are alone during this special time of year.Thinking of those less fortunate and spreading some holiday cheer with our gift of flowers is one of the ways we can provide much needed love this December. It is truly the blessing of giving that brings joy to others.

"For it is in giving that we receive."
Francis of Assisi

During this season of GIVING please consider one of these wonderful opportunities:

-Sponsor a bouquet to a Cape Cod nursing home senior by donating just $20  (in the name of a loved one or a family member's memory).

-Sponsor a few deliveries in various names, and we will make sure to put their name on the donation cards for the delivered bouquets.

-Finally, imagine sponsoring an entire nursing home delivery for $500. Each card delivered to your facility of choice will have your name written as our sponsor.

Still Looking

Flower Angels is still looking for a new home for January 2016. We need approximately 1500 square feet of space in the Mid-Cape area. We know that something special is in store for us in the new year and cannot wait to find a new location to spread our angel wings. Please contact Flower Angels if you can help. 508-280-9869

OH, DEER
(What Can the Matter Be?)

Who doesn't love a cute little deer, especially this time of year?  I think Suzanne C. may have some mixed feelings about deer after one darted out into the middle of the road and collided with our Flower Angels van! Fortunately, the deer ran off, Suzanne and Mara were fine, and the deer was not Rudolph.  Unfortunately, our van sustained a bit of damage.....OUCH!

              Out and About

On November 19th, Megan and Suzanne attended the Cape and Plymouth Enterprising Women Event at the Cape Codder.  The invitation to attend this inspirational business event was extended by Cape and Plymouth Business and Score Cape Cod . Flower Angels donated five calendars as raffle items for the event and three large bouquets. Both allowed Flower Angels to spread the word about the organization and what we do in the community. Bringing humor to the event, many attendees "tried out" to become a Flower Angel for a future calendar! Fun was had by all, and many were inspired to help others.  How perfect because isn't that what the Flower Angels mission is all about?

NOVEMBER MOMENTS!
Happy Birthday,
Megan

Facilities' Spotlight

Pleasant Bay  Nursing Home in Brewster
Pleasant Bay is a special nursing home. Many people from the Lower Cape choose this fine facility for rehab and long term care. Over the years, many  family members and friends have been patients in this well-managed facility.  Flower Angel Mara, accompanied by her mom or awesome job coach, Sam, has cheerfully been delivering beautiful floral arrangements monthly to Pleasant Bay Nursing Home since May 2014. During the spring  and summer, when the glorious wedding flowers are abundant, 80-100 bouquets are delivered to both the first and second floor residents each month. Kathleen Tarr, the awesome activity director, announces when  Flower Angels will be visiting. She makes sure to let us know how much the residents look forward to our visits.

Woodlands at Brewster
Flower Angels delivers 35-40 vibrant bouquets monthly to the residents in this beautiful assisted living facility  owned by Joshua Zuckerman. Shirley, the extraordinarily cheerful activities director who is loved by all, is always a delight to work with. Irene, our 90 year "young" calendar girl recently accompanied Jillian to the facility to sell our calendars and had a wonderful time there.

Volunteer Spotlight--- GAIL FORETTI
        ONE OF GAIL'S               ARRANGEMENTS

Gail is a very talented and creative  Flower Angels floral designer who travels from Cotuit to volunteer on Mondays.  Back in the 70's Gail owned a small silk floral business called Bloomers where she developed her flair for unique arrangements.Today, with her husband's help, Gail also creates beautiful, handcrafted wooden mermaids and of course angels. Gail is a native of New Hampshire and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. She resided in La Jolla, CA, where she was married 47 years ago. Gail and her family spent many summers on Cape Cod, and she moved here permanently 10 years ago. Gail loves to boat, play golf, and do Pilates, but her favorite past time she says is cooking. Gail also is an animal lover, and h er dog Molly, an adorable Havanese, has become our mascot and even appears in our new  calendar.

Thanks, Gail, for sharing your talent and time with Flower Angels.
