Happy Friday! Spring Break is just around the corner! Woohoo! You deserve this break, so relax and have fun. Featured below are major events you don't want to miss out on after coming back from break, a few spotlights of the Publications, Media, and PMC groups, and some important announcements.

Submit to CLAM!
Final semesterly magazine deadline: Friday,  April 22

We're currently accepting submissions for the f inal semesterly magazine: We're accepting short fiction, poetry, & art work! We accept up to 5 pieces from each person, with a word limit of 2,000 for each piece of written work. 

Written submissions can be sent to clam.submissions@gmail.com , & art can be sent to clam.art.editor@gmail.com  

Oski Awards
As stated above, the Oski Awards are coming up! We need your help and input to make it happen. 

PMC would like a student media org to create two ~1-minute preview videos of the  Oski  nominees to be played at the Oskis Award Ceremony right before they announce best overall publication and best film / video. (Imagine something similar to the preview video they play to recap Best Picture Nominees at the Oscars). The org will be paid $400. For more info, please look at our Request for Proposals.

Advisory Council Kickoff: Thank you!
Thank you to everyone that came to the Advisory Council Kickoff! There was an incredible turnout and many important ideas were discussed. A summary of what was said:

Publications Spotlight:
Spoon University

Spoon University at Berkeley is a student-run online publication dedicated to helping the community eat intelligently. They have reviews of new restaurants, reviews of dorm dining hall hacks, recipes, and food news.

Media Spotlight: CalTV
The premier source of news and entertainment for the Berkeley community. One of the largest student-run television organizations on the West Coast. CalTV is Berkeley’s way of redefining your TV. As UC Berkeley's Online TV Station, we aim to offer consistent and quality programming that informs, entertains, and inspires our viewers. We're on the cutting edge of new media, and we're here for YOU. CalTV is for students, by students.

PMC Staff Spotlight: Spandana Singh (aka Spandi)
Spandi is our 3rd-year PMC Supervisor, and she has a lot on her plate. She is a  Double Major in Development Studies and Media Studies, and she minors in Global Poverty and Practice. She also has a Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship. She likes travelling, playing the piano, boxing, and going to music festivals. One thing not many people know about her is that she lived in six cities in five countries. What a busy gal. Her recommended campus publication is Berkeley Student Journal of Asian Studies - it highlights a spectrum of topics related to Asia and the team is composed of a diverse group of students who all bring something interesting to the table.
