The Wrightwood Neighbors Association hosted a community meeting on Monday, March 14th to  review the demolition, construction, and destruction mitigation plans and timeline of  the Lincoln Centre project in the 2500 block of North Lincoln.  If you missed it, you can view the presentation here Please contact George Vasill with McHugh Construction [email protected] or Daniel J. Slack with Baker Development [email protected] with questions.  Also, look for updates here on upcoming projects coming to the Ward and plans to minimize impact to residents and businesses.

Community Meeting: HopCat Restaurant

Please join Park West Community Association at a community meeting  on Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:30 PM to review a proposal by HopCat, a Michigan-based restaurant group. They propose to operate a restaurant at 2577 N. Clark Street (the former Vapiano location). My office will cohost this meeting to monitor the discussion, take notes, and record your feedback.  Click here  for more information.

CPD Outdoor Roll Call

The 18th District will be conducting an outdoor roll at Oz Park, 2021 N. Burling, on March 23rd at 1:00 PM. Please come out to show your support to our hard working officers  as well as our co mmitment to maintaining a safe school campus.

Earth Day Parks & Preserves Clean-Up 

The Midwest's largest volunteer parks clean up will take place Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. More than 4,000 volunteers who "think globally and act locally" participate during the week of Earth Day by cleaning and sprucing up their neighborhood parks, playgrounds and forest preserves. Volunteers will pick up litter, plant trees and shrubs, mulch trees, maintain trails and  fibar  playgrounds at parks, play lots, beaches and forest preserves through out the Chicago area. Earth Hour 2016

Around the world lights will be turned off on Saturday to build awareness of climate change. Chicago's Willis Tower will join the Eiffel Tower in Paris, New York's Empire State building, and other world landmarks in going dark for an hour on that date. Over 172 countries  are expected to participate. In the 43d Ward, you can join in and show your commitment  to the planet by turning off nonessential lights Saturday, March 19th, 8:30 - 9:30 PM.

Easter Fun for the Family

Easter Party at the Triangle

Old Town Triangle Association  invites members and non-members to an Easter party on Sunday, March 20 from 2-5 PM at 1763 N. North Park. All Ages are welcome to enjoy egg decorating, games, refreshments and flamenco guitar performance .

Sweet Buddha Party

Join  Sweet Buddha for a free  Easter bunny visit with complimentary photos, an Easter egg hunt, and gifts & goodies for your Easter basket.  Sunday, March 20th from 12-2 PM at Sweet Buddha, 2324 N. Clark St. A 10% discount on all items will be offered during the party.

Annual WNA Easter Egg Hunt

Join in for a family friendly Easter Egg Hunt and meet the Easter Bunny Saturday March 26th at  New Life Church, 1110 West Lill Ave (intersection of Lill & Seminary Avenue)  Light brunch from 8:30 - 10:00 AM then walk over to Jonquil Park at 10:00 AM for an Easter Egg Hunt with over 1,000 eggs!.

St. Pauls Third Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Join St. Pauls, 2335 N. Orchard, on Saturday, March 26th from 10 AM - 12 PM for a free egg-stravaganza including a continental breakfast Easter Bunny, egg hunt, crafts and games. For an optional donation,  bring a box of healthy cereal to benefit the Lincoln Park Community Shelter. And don't forget to bring a basket for collecting eggs.

Women in Rock:  Concert with Andrea Bunch

Andrea Bunch, a Chicago-based musician, composer and educator, will perform a rock concert at Lincoln Park Library, 1150 Fullerton, featuring a selection of songs made popular by women artists. Saturday, March 26th, 11:00-11:45 AM. Click here for more information.



Friends of Lincoln Park Gala

Support our neighborhood high school by joining Friends of  Lincoln Park on April 1st from 7 - 10 PM for their Lion Pride Night Gala at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2701 N. Sheffield.   Click here to purchase tickets.

North Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Rehabilitation

Starting April 1st,  CDOT will  begin rehabilitating the North Avenue pedestrian bridge that connects Lincoln Park to North Avenue Beach over Lake Shore Drive. The bridge will be closed during construction, and there will be lane closures on Lake Shore Drive with two lanes of traffic in any direction remaining open during the project which is scheduled to wrap June 30th.

Chicago Residential Zone Parking Pass Changes

As of March 1st, changes have been made to the City of Chicago Residential Zone Parking Program. Please note the following:
  • Residents can now purchase up to three sheets of permits per 30 day period. Each sheet of 15 daily permits is $8.00.
  • Our office will NO LONGER be able to create new resident records. If you do not have a resident record in the system, the Office of the City Clerk must create a record prior to our office being able to sell you permits. Email proof of your address and a photo ID to [email protected]. This process can take up to 2-3 business days. 
  • Passes are available for purchase at all City Clerk sales locations. Click here to view these locations and their corresponding hours of operation.
